Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CA licensure and 2 years of recent pediatric CVICU experience.

Details

Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a Level 1 trauma, Magnet-recognized teaching children's hospital
13-week assignment with variable day/night shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00 or 19:00-7:00)
Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat nights or Sat/Sun days)
No on-call requirements
Floating required within scope of practice to meet facility needs
Uses Epic for charting
Any scrub color permitted

Requirements

Active CA RN license required in hand, or an ETA for licensure required for consideration
Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric CVICU experience required
Must be cardiac trained with heart transplant experience
Current BLS and PALS certifications required
Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Strong cardiac skills including congenital heart disease/repair, hemodynamic monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
Experience with central line management, arterial lines, and IV therapy

Additional Information

Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiac patients in a top-ranked children's hospital
Must be willing to work 2 of the following 3 holidays, including Eves: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
No RTO accommodated for Christmas Day or Christmas Eve
Maximum of 6 RTO days allowed, with a minimum of 3 shifts worked per week
First-time travelers accepted if they have strong relevant experience
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
Travelers who have hit their one-year mark at this facility or its affiliated system must wait 90 days before returning as a traveler
Free traveler parking provided
