Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring ICU-level skills, a CA RN license, and 1 year of experience.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an acute care, Magnet-designated hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within skillset, including to sister facilities within the health system
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• ICU-level skill set required for this PCU position
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry
• Experience with IV therapy, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for patients requiring step-down level monitoring and interventions, including those with CVA, traumatic brain injury, and post-MI conditions
• Any color scrubs accepted; lab coat/OR attire provided for L&D and OR areas
• Free parking available on site
• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• Returning former staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, as post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Only one submission to a Providence facility allowed at a time
