Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU position requiring at least 1 year of recent PCU experience and TN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• PCU unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• Schedule options include 36/36, 36/48, and 48/48
• No call requirement, but rotating weekends required
• Floating required with 1:7 ratios when floated to Med/Surg
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience within the past 2 years required and documented on work history
• Experience with 1:5 PCU patient ratios
• Skills in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and cardiac drip management required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Candidates must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing
• Drug test must be completed 12-14 days prior to start date
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients in the PCU, including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of neurological and respiratory conditions
• Contract RN team members expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules, averaging 4-5 non-billable hours
• First-time travelers accepted, though prior Level I trauma facility experience is preferred for first-time travelers
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without financial penalty due to census needs
