Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring ICU-level skills, a 1:3 patient ratio, and night shift availability.

• Acute care Magnet hospital setting in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within skillset, including to sister facilities as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Free parking available
• Scrubs of any color permitted; L/D and OR scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• ICU-level skills preferred for this PCU assignment
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry (unit and remote) required
• Respiratory care skills required, including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• IV therapy and line management skills required, including PICC and peripheral line care
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive PCU-level nursing care including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal patient management
• Care for patients requiring post-MI, CVA, traumatic brain injury, and renal failure management
• Support for ventilated and tracheostomy patients as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted, though lower bill rate may apply within a 50-mile radius
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles away to qualify for travel rate
• Former Providence permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Candidates may only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time
