Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications along with 3+ years of ICU experience in a trauma cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro population.

Details

• ICU setting caring for trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro patients
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to IMC as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) or MD license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• 3+ years of ICU experience preferred, minimum 2 years with strong experience considered
• No new graduate RNs accepted
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and advanced respiratory care
• Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering emergency medications
• Experience with CVA/stroke management and post-neurosurgical care
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and IV insulin protocols preferred

Additional Information

• Provide high-acuity critical care nursing within a Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends as scheduled
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• One RTO request allowed, must be approved prior to assignment start
• Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after 1 year before returning to this facility
• Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate
