Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Level I Trauma and prior travel experience at a large acute care hospital.

Details

• Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Day shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Team nursing model with ratios of 1:12 split between 2 RNs, 2 LPNs, a Med Nurse, and Charge Nurse
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend rotation required as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
• ADN accepted; BSN not required for this specific unit
• Orthopedic experience required
• Oncology experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical and orthopedic nursing care within a team nursing model
• Work within a Level I Trauma Center setting
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning
• Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall during the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall during the assignment, must work at least 1 of the 2
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application, as RTO requested after an offer will not be guaranteed approval
