Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring an active TN or compact RN license and at least one year of EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit supporting an Ortho unit, with MS/Tele competency required for floating purposes
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), 1845-0715
• Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on need
• Floating required to like units based on skill set and demonstrated competencies
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses Omnicell medication system
• EPIC EMR experience required, minimum 1 year
• Skills may include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and GI-related care (bowel obstruction, ostomy care, feeding tube management)
• Preferred experience with bariatric surgery, ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, and total joint replacement patients

Requirements

• Active TN RN license or multistate/compact license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Med/Surg Tele unit required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must complete an EKG exam as part of the hiring process

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Tele setting with potential floating to an Ortho unit
• Floating to other units and campuses within the health system may be required based on census needs, limited to units where competency has been demonstrated
• Orientation occurs every Monday, with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility between 90-99.9 miles depending on shift and specialty
• For night shift positions in this specialty, candidates must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus, with reduced eligibility between 50-99.9 miles and ineligibility under 50 miles
• Travelers who complete three consecutive 13-week contracts or 39 weeks must begin the employee conversion process or take a minimum six-month separation before returning as a traveler
