Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring EPIC EMR experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on the Med/Surg Tele unit providing step-down care from ICU (no vents or pressor support)
• Patient population includes higher oxygen demand, dialysis, afib, and post-heart cath patients
• Manage drips such as heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotolol initiation
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
• Floating to other like units may be required based on census needs

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Med/Surg Tele or similar unit required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and cardiac drip management required
• Experience with oxygen administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, and IV therapy/phlebotomy required

Additional Information

• Provide step-down level care for cardiac and respiratory patients transitioning from ICU
• Monitor and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Manage pre/post cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patients
• Perform wound care and maintain isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Orientation occurs weekly and includes annual compliance training
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience
• Must be located more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible for full travel pay rate, with reduced rate options for 90-99.9 miles
