Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 3 NICU night shift position requiring NRP certification and prior Level 3 (or Level 2 with 3-5 years) NICU experience.

Details

• 36-bed Level 3 NICU unit within the main hospital
• Unit typically staffed with 2 respiratory therapists per shift to cover peak volumes
• Uses Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide, and Vapotherm devices
• EMR systems used: Meditech and NeoNotes
• Night shift schedule, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with facility staff

Requirements

• Active RRT license required if applicable
• NRP certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Level 3 NICU experience required, or 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience considered
• Minimum 6 months of experience within the last 6 months in the specialty
• STABLE certification preferred
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri)

Additional Information

• Attend high-risk deliveries and manage ventilator support including conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation
• Perform surfactant administration, blood gas acquisition and interpretation, and nitric oxide administration
• Work independently with strong critical thinking and attention to detail
• Grey scrub color designated for Respiratory Therapy staff
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet minimum experience requirements
