Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stroke/Med-Surg/Tele RN for a night shift position requiring NIH Stroke Certification and stroke or medical-surgical telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the Stroke Unit (3 Central) of a hospital environment
• 24-bed unit with a patient ratio of 7 patients to 1 nurse
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required
• On-call responsibilities as needed
• Floating required to other medical departments
• Uses Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, ultrasound guided machine, glucometers, Welch Allyn vital signs machine, blood warmer, otoscope, virtual sitter cameras (CareAi), Responder 5 tracking system, and computers on wheels
• Meditech EMR used

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in stroke and medical-surgical nursing required
• IV skills, wound care, and neuro assessment skills required
• Charge nurse or resource nurse experience preferred
• Ability to work independently preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to stroke, medical-surgical, and telemetry patients
• Unit supports procedures including cerebral angiogram, left heart catheterization, PEG tube placement, endoscopy/colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, central line insertion, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and urologic procedures
• Scrub color is royal blue with a white lab coat
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this travel position
