Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Nursing Float position requiring 2+ years of stepdown experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• PCU Nursing Float unit within an acute care hospital setting, stepdown unit type
• 32-bed unit with patient ratios of 1-4
• Common diagnoses include CVA/TIA, STEMI/NSTEMI, ACS, CHF, acute and chronic renal failure, respiratory failure/distress, DKA/HHNK, PE/DVT, afib, and pre/post cardiac procedures
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7:30a, 12-hour shifts
• Weekend requirements based on unit needs
• Floating required to 4th, 5th, or 6th floor PCU patients, and to MS/Tele and PCU floors
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Tele monitors in use with remote tele monitor tech support; nurses read strips
• Manages drips including nitroglycerin, heparin, cardizem, nicardipine, amiodarone, insulin, dopamine, esmolol, labetolol, milrinone, argatroban, and aggrostat
• No ventilator management required
• Charge nurse coverage provided (free charge)
• CNA support at a 1:8-12 ratio
• 24/7 in-house Hospitalist, Intensivist, RT, Pharmacy, RRT RN, and Phlebotomy support
• IV team available 1100-2300
• No block scheduling requests accommodated

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (active, not pending)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BSN not required
• Experience with CAPD (Peritoneal Dialysis) is a plus but not required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

• Flexibility required for holiday coverage based on unit needs
• No specific scrub color required
• Early December start dates may be considered, with flexibility to work holidays
• Duo travelers may be considered as long as they do not require the same schedule
