Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN with 2+ years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Emergency Department setting at a STEMI and stroke certified facility
• General ED serving combined adult/pediatric population
• 1:4 patient ratio
• 3x12 or 4x12 day shift schedule (11:00-23:30)
• 6 scheduled weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) within a 6 week schedule
• No call requirement
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (will accept pending IL license, must apply for license before or upon submission)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Prior travel RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and IV medication administration
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP management
• Experience treating CVA, neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, head injuries, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputations
• Skilled in triage

Additional Information

• Care for patients with a wide range of emergent conditions including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and trauma cases
• Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions permitted
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers not accepted for this unit
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and will not be accepted
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler without taking a 6 month break before returning
