Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN with ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications for a fast-paced ER in a STEMI and stroke certified facility.

Details

• Emergency Dept setting serving combined adult/pediatric populations
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift 4x12 hours (11:00-23:30), 3x12 or 4x12 schedules accepted
• 6 scheduled weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) within a 6 week schedule
• No on-call requirement
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (pending license accepted if applied for prior to or upon consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Dept experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• CPI certification preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with STEMI and stroke certified facility protocols
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and IV medication administration
• Experience managing CVA, neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, and head injury cases
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP management
• Experience treating gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Strong triage skills required
• Travel experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of trauma and medical presentations including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, head injury, and near drowning
• Navy scrubs required
• Must be clean shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and will not be accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must not have worked as a traveler for more than 1 year without taking a required 6-month break
