Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU/CCU position requiring KY or compact RN licensure and BLS certification, with ACLS and NIHSS obtained within months of start.

Details

• 10-bed inpatient Critical Care Unit (CCU)
• Cares for medical and surgical patients ages 16 and up with critical illness, including suspected AMI, unstable angina, arrhythmias, respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation, post-cardiopulmonary arrest, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and targeted temperature management
• 12-hour day shifts, 7A-7P
• Full-time schedule, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• May require on-call shifts at times

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of start
• NIHSS certification required within 6 months of start
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency administering medications and performing procedures such as wound care and IV therapy

Additional Information

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care
• Coordinates admission, transfer, and discharge activities along with patient and family education
• Delegates and oversees care activities performed by other team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility, with local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
