Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 37-bed inpatient telemetry unit, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and night shift availability.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 37 beds
• Cares for patients ages 16 and up requiring continuous telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes medical and cardiac diagnoses, CHF, atrial fibrillation exacerbation, IV cardiac medications, stable BiPAP/CPAP, and post-cardiac catheterization or radial-approach PCI recovery
• 3 12-hour night shifts per week including weekends
• Shift hours are 7 PM to 7 AM

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of start
• NIHSS certification and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required within 6 months of start
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
• Must reside within 75 miles or accept a lower local pay rate
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge coordination
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide patient and family education
• Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives such as fall prevention and documentation audits
