Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical Oncology RN for a 13-week assignment requiring CT/Compact RN license, Epic experience, and prior oncology nursing experience at a Magnet teaching hospital.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit in a 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 0700-1930)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license, CT or Compact, required
• Minimum 3 years of Medical Surgical Oncology experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) and OCN preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, infusions, and port access/management
• Experience administering chemotherapy and managing oncologic emergencies preferred
• Knowledge of bone marrow transplant and CAR-T therapy care preferred
• Experience with symptom management, pain management, and psychosocial oncology care
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a variety of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and other malignancies
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and manage related side effects and emergencies
• Collaborate on care coordination, wound care, and pain management
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a travel nurse
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be auto-approved
