Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Burn Med/Surg unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• 15 room, 26 bed Burn/Plastic/Pediatric Trauma unit with average daily census of 22 patients
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1 (day) and 4-5:1 (night)
• Patient population includes Adult Burn, Plastics, and Pediatric Trauma and Burn cases
• Anesthesia-assisted procedures for painful wound care, including nitrous oxide, performed in dedicated tank and bath rooms
• EtCO2 monitoring used for specific patients
• Dedicated wound care RN assists primary RN in tank rooms during 8-hour day shifts (0700-1530)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Travelers float first within scope to meet facility needs
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week contract period

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and chest tube management
• Conscious sedation experience preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital
• Blue scrubs provided by the facility
• Minimal RTO accommodated; no time off permitted during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Prior facility staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
