Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology role at an academic medical center, requiring ARRT(R), BLS, and 2+ years of vascular/IR experience.

Details

• Imaging support role in the OR working vascular IR procedures
• Hybrid OR and Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures setting
• Techs will not scrub
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Call rotation of q4, including 1 weekend per month and 4 weekdays per month
• Uses Siemens equipment, ultrasound, and EPIC for inventory/case ordering
• Uses HI-IQ to document and track inventory used during cases
• 50-mile radius rule applies

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of vascular/IR experience required
• ARRT(R) and BLS required; ARRT(VI) preferred
• VA license required if applicable; pending license accepted if licensed in another state (ETA approximately 8 weeks)
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Experience with angioplasty, carotid stenting, EVAR, TEVAR, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and access site prep
• Strong vascular/IR experience with familiarity in Hybrid OR procedures
• Ability to work independently and be actively engaged throughout the entire case workflow
• Epic experience required

Additional Information

• Responsible for pulling inventory and ordering cases in EPIC prior to procedures
• Runs the table and controls during cases and performs 3D spins and fusion technology work
• Actively engaged in the room throughout procedures, including filming and post-processing images
• Works closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and other procedural team members
• May use C-arm during downtime to support simple surgical cases alongside X-ray staff, including procedures such as Impellas and cystoscopies
• May assist in training or mentoring other staff during downtime, including reviewing workflows and equipment
• Works at a major academic medical center with a strong teaching and training culture
• All team members, including travelers, are expected to participate in the educational mission of the facility
• Must float within scope of practice as needed
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at submission
• Any pre-start vacation time must be disclosed prior to scheduling a start date
• Previous UVA employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval; external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days
