Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring TX or compact RN license, prior travel experience, and multiple emergency certifications.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients in a non-trauma setting
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
• Weekend shifts required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with pediatrics, orthopedics, and neurological cases required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across adult and pediatric cases, including cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic presentations
• Previous charge experience preferred
• STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility experience preferred
• Experience with head injury, near drowning, ortho trauma, and spinal cord injury cases preferred
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Not eligible if residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• All RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
