Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele Float RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• MS/Tele Float Pool position within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Float within skillset required across the unit
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Holiday coverage as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license - MD or compact license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required within the last 7 years
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Skills required: Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele, and Telemetry
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, and tracheostomy care/management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and pacemaker care
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry float basis, flexing across units as needed
• Navy-colored scrubs required and not provided by the facility
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates are assigned facility- and unit-specific training modules upon hire that must be completed within one week of signing the contract
