Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring MD or compact RN licensure and prior travel assignment experience.
Details
- MS/Tele Float Pool unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Float within skillset required
- Scrubs not provided; navy color required
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- Experience with cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele required
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
- Flu vaccine required
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across multiple med/surg and telemetry units as part of a float pool team
- Responsibilities include IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line management, and cardiac monitoring
- Experience with respiratory, genitourinary/renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal patient care conditions is valued
- Skilled in wound care, isolation precautions, and rapid response protocols
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- Nurses with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate
- First-time travelers are not eligible; prior travel assignment experience required
