Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for an ED Holding assignment on nights, requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• Unit: Telemetry, supporting ED Holding patients in a high-volume ER
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic EMR experience required
• Opportunity for additional shifts if desired
• Floating required between sister facilities within the Providence Health System

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required (strong candidates with less may be considered)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience interpreting ABGs and managing dysrhythmias preferred
• Experience with cardiac drips, PCA, and heparin protocols preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and trauma level I/II experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care for ED holding patients in a high-acuity environment
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias and emergencies using rapid response/code teams
• Administer medications including IV insulin protocols and manage vasoactive drips without titration
• Perform wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols as needed
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers considered only with 3+ years of experience
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate eligibility
