Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 22-bed adult oncology unit, requiring 2 years of med/surg experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• 22-bed adult Medical Surgical Oncology unit (5T)
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as needed
• Floating required to other Med/Surg and telemetry floors, including stepdown/PCU type units
• Uses Meditech EMR
• 13-week contract with possible extension

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (ACLS and NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating expectations
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy oncology-focused Med/Surg unit with a high float expectation
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates with license or background issues will not be accepted
• Previous employees must have been in good standing and away from the facility for at least one year to reapply
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with minimal to no time off requested, especially during the first few weeks
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff
