Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical RN for a 22-bed adult MS Oncology unit requiring an active SC or compact RN license and 2 years of med surg experience.

Details

• 22-bed adult Medical Surgical Oncology unit (5T)
• Medsurg patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
• Floating required between other med surg and telemetry floors, including up to PCU/stepdown units
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis with staff
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (ACLS and NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating expectations
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for adult medical surgical and oncology patients
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel assignment
• Facility does not accept local candidates within the 50-mile radius
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• Facility will not accept candidates with license or background issues
• Former employees must have been gone at least 1 year and left in good standing to reapply
• Minimal to no RTO permitted, especially during the first weeks of assignment
• RTO requests must be approved prior to assignment start
