Description

American Traveler is hiring a Surgical ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring ICU experience and an active LA or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical ICU unit with 9 beds and 36 staff members
• Day shift staffed with Charge RN, Unit Secretary, and RNs; night shift staffed with Charge RN and RNs
• Patient ratios of 2:1, which may increase to 3:1 based on unit needs
• Uses bedside monitoring, IABP, CRRT, and Impella equipment
• Documents in Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to MICU, telemetry, and medsurg units as needed

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, accepted from AHA or ARC, with no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment
• NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU placement
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Cardiac ICU and Surgical ICU experience preferred
• Experience with central line insertion/care and chest tube insertion/care preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Responsibilities include central line insertion and care, as well as chest tube insertion and care
• Candidates should demonstrate a caring, compassionate, and team-oriented personality
• Attendance is actively monitored on this unit
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
