Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry unit position requiring active PA or compact RN license and prior MS Tele/PCU experience.

Details

• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Unit cares for a mix of Medical-Surgical Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patients
• Patient ratios are a minimum of 5-6:1
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• 17-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• SSN, DOB, and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a mix of Medical-Surgical Telemetry and PCU patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and respond to rapid response/code team events
• Manage central lines, peripheral lines, PICC lines, and administer IV therapy and blood products
• Administer thrombolytic agents and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips without titration
• Provide respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Candidates must be willing to work every other holiday
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Local candidates and local rule submissions are not accepted
• Former permanent employees must have a 2-year gap before returning through an agency
• Travelers who have completed a cumulative year within the health system must take a two-year break before returning
