Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift assignment at a large acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience.

Details

• Acute care setting within a large (300+ bed) critical care facility
• Respiratory Therapy department caring for general med, intermediate, and ICU patients
• Uses Servo U, Servo i, LTV, and Trilogy ventilators, ResMed S9 for BiPAP/CPAP, and Fisher Paykel heated high flow equipment
• AARC point system used for patient assignments, typically 26-28 points per shift
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• 12-hour night shifts, scheduled 1830-0700
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Every other holiday required
• No call or standby call requirements
• No floating required within the RT department
• Team lead available as a resource on each shift, not assigned a patient caseload
• Hospitalist and Intensivist coverage available 24/7

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Experience in a large (300+ bed) critical care facility required
• Critical care experience required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification via NBRC required, RRT preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Active state license required, if applicable
• Negative drug screen required for all panels
• Must not have worked at this facility's health system in the past year

Additional Information

• Deliver respiratory care including ventilator management and treatment administration for general med, intermediate, and ICU patients
• Department-specific orientation includes EPIC training, ventilator review, IPV and specialty equipment review, followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• COVID vaccination is not required for this position
