Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of specialty experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care ICU/PCU unit with 82 critical care beds (48 ICU, 34 PCU) across 3 floors
• ICU patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, PCU ratios of 1:3
• Primary assignment to one facility with potential float to other Region Two hospitals in Lakewood, WA and Enumclaw, WA
• Float eligible between all ICU and PCU units
• Handles all critical care diagnoses and all ICU-level drips
• PCU drips include cardizem, nitro, insulin, and heparin, with no pressors or vents in PCU
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Rotates holiday coverage with permanent staff
• Charge nurse and 2 nurse aides per floor
• Telemetry/monitor techs available in PCU only
• 24/7 RT, Pharmacy, and IV Team support
• Dayshift hospitalist/intensivist on site, with virtual ICU and in-house ARNP for overnight procedures
• Floor-specific orientation of up to 1 week with an educator, minimum 2 shifts

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
• Strong Med Surg RN background preferred
• IABP or CRRT experience only required if previously performed
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• No BSN required for this position

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing in a high-acuity ICU/PCU environment with surgical resident support
• No scrub color requirements
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
