Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a compact or IN RN license and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• 41-bed ED with two pods and 37 private rooms, including a split-flow area for lower acuity patients
• Split-flow area typically staffed with 1-2 nurses and a mid-level provider for 5-8 patients
• Department averages 160+ patients per day
• Treats cardiovascular, neurovascular, traumatic, and psychiatric cases
• AHA-recognized STEMI receiving center and Primary Stroke Center
• Second shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 9a-9p
• Weekends and holidays required as needed

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required within 2 months of start
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
• Documentation required: last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination across the nursing process
• Facilitate patient admission, transfer, and discharge activities with patient and family-centered education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and delegate tasks appropriately to other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Must reside within 75 miles for consideration at the travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
