Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring active TN or compact RN license and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the Neuro/Surgical Telemetry Stepdown unit of a hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Three weekend shifts required per four-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• May be required to float to other MS/Telemetry units or low-acuity ICU
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active Tennessee or compact RN license in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required
• Epic experience within the last 18 months required and must be detailed on profile
• Must pass on-site Epic competency test-out
• Travel experience highly preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Neurological care experience including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE skills
• Must be clean-shaven if fit testing is required

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to neuro/surgical telemetry patients
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (11/1-3/31) with no declinations or exemptions accepted
• Local candidates and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• All requested RTO must be disclosed prior to consideration, as additional RTO will not be approved afterward
