Description

American Traveler is hiring an Oncology RN for a day shift position requiring CA RN licensure, 2+ years of oncology experience, and ONS Chemo certification.

Details

• Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule of 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend work required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to Med/Surg, Med/Tele, and ED units based on census
• Uses Epic for documentation

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• BLS and ONS Chemo certification required
• OCN certification preferred
• IVIG experience required
• Experience with MS/Tele and telemetry required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and chemotherapy administration/monitoring
• Experience with blood product administration and port access/management
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Wound care and isolation precaution experience
• IV insulin protocol and titration experience
• One professional reference required within the last 2 years

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to oncology patients including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Self-scheduling available for this unit
• Pre-approved time off must be submitted for consideration and cannot be added afterward
• Previous permanent staff at the facility are not eligible for this position
• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet experience requirements
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
