Description

American Traveler is seeking an Operating Room RN with circulating and robotic surgery experience to join a general surgery team requiring call coverage.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room unit of a hospital setting
• General OR environment supporting general surgery, gynecology, pediatric general surgery, urology, and endoscopic procedures
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Rotating call required between two RNs covering general surgery and emergency c-sections
• Uses Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic procedures
• Uses Epic charting system
• Initial reporting location differs from primary assignment site for the first day

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required in-hand prior to consideration
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Circulating experience required
• Robotic surgery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience preferred
• Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repair
• Experience with laparoscopic assisted procedures required
• Proficiency in infection control, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Nursys verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrub support for general surgery, gynecology, pediatric, and urology procedures
• Perform emergency management duties including code response and fire safety protocols
• Follow infection control, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with zero tolerance for positive results
• Candidates must reside outside a 110-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted for consideration
• Labs must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a documented completion plan
