Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 3 NICU rapid response position requiring NICU experience and NRP certification.

Details

• Level 3 NICU with 36 beds
• Unit typically staffed with 2 respiratory therapists per shift to cover peak volumes
• Uses Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide, and Vapotherm equipment
• Uses Meditech and NeoNotes EMR systems
• Night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-week assignment

Requirements

• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• NBRC state licensure required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required
• Level 3 NICU experience required, though candidates with 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience will be considered
• STABLE certification preferred
• Minimum 6 months of experience within the last 6 months in the specialty
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide ventilator management including conventional and high frequency oscillatory ventilation
• Perform surfactant administration, blood gas acquisition and interpretation, and nitric oxide administration
• Work independently with strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
• Positive, team-oriented personality preferred
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
