Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) with 1-2 years of experience for a night shift position requiring Adult ICU, ED, and NICU experience.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy / CRT unit supporting neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• Every third weekend required
• Float required between Adult ICU/ED and NICU as needed
• No on-call required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated when possible
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• 1-2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required, with Adult ICU, ED, and NICU experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• CRT or RRT accepted
• License required if applicable
• Intubation assistance, extubation, and airway management experience required
• Nasal and oral suctioning, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene experience required
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, fresh tracheostomies, and pneumonia required
• Ventilator management experience required, including BiPAP, CPAP, IMV/SIMV, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• High Flow Nasal Cannula, oxygen therapy, and nebulizer treatment experience required
• Arterial puncture and ABG interpretation experience required
• Chest physiotherapy and respiratory treatment administration experience required
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory support experience required, including apnea monitoring, high-risk delivery support, Bubble CPAP, and neonatal/pediatric ventilation
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
• Perform airway management, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene
• Manage mechanical ventilation and perform weaning from ventilatory support
• Support high-risk neonatal deliveries and provide neonatal/pediatric respiratory care
• Scrub colors required: maroon/wine and black
• Orientation length based on traveler's experience and department needs
• First-time travelers accepted
• One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract
• Local candidates accepted with a local rate differential
• Must live within 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
