Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night-shift assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Acute medicine population including diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and non-chemo cancer patients
• This unit does not care for surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope and service line to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Epic charting experience required
• Med/Surg and Telemetry experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and wound care

Additional Information

• Facility is a Magnet-designated, Teaching Hospital and Level I Trauma Center
• Navy blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO during the first week of the assignment
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Contract length is firm at 13 weeks
• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or will need to be shaved
