Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a post-op surgical unit requiring an active MN RN license and the ability to float to similar units including PCU.

Details

• Post-op Surgical Care Unit providing care for General Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, GYN (non mom/baby), and Trauma patients
• Acute care hospital setting with 479 staffed beds
• Magnet-designated, teaching facility with Level II Trauma status
• Day shift (0700-1930), Night shift (1900-0730), or Nights only, all 3x12 hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Float to other similar units including PCU as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active Minnesota RN license required (in hand or proof of application at time of consideration)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required
• Must complete Livescan fingerprinting in person in Minnesota on the Monday prior to the scheduled start date
• Must complete required lab work within 48 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Provide post-operative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties
• Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility
• Candidates must not live within 25 miles of the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per assignment
• No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• All RTO requests must be disclosed and approved at the time of consideration
• Travelers requesting a medical or religious vaccine exemption must provide appropriate documentation
