Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Hospital-based respiratory therapy unit serving neonatal through geriatric patients
• Average daily census of 36 with approximately 6 visits per day
• No NICU on-site but staff must be able to resuscitate, intubate, and ventilate newborns as needed
• Vapotherm is used for neonatal patients who do not require intubation
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• RRT or CRT license required if applicable
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:10 patient ratios
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and IMV
• Experience with neonatal and pediatric intubation and airway management
• Proficient in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must be over 65 miles from the facility based on driver's license address

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations including ARDS, aspiration, and pneumonia cases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric intubation as needed
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, suctioning, and airway management procedures
• Administer nebulized and inhaled medications including bronchodilators and steroids
• May be assigned to an emergency response team during facility emergencies, with expectation to remain on-site until relieved
• Orientation is held five days a week
• Grey scrub color required
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• All requested RTO must be disclosed on the profile and discussed during the interview
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated from the facility for at least one full year before returning as a travel employee
