Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and compact or TN licensure.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• 36/36 schedule with every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units as needed
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA certification only accepted)
• 2 years of recent experience required
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required
• IV therapy/phlebotomy skills required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring (on-unit)
• Oxygen administration and oxygen tank management skills required
• Heparin protocol management experience required
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework, including non-billable modules averaging 4-5 hours
• Relias EKG testing required for all specialties and must be completed within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts
• Drug testing must be completed within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with willingness to retest if needed
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
• First-time travelers are accepted
