Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Adult Critical Care, ED, NICU, and Pediatrics experience for a day shift hospital position requiring on-call availability.

Details

• Community hospital setting providing respiratory and neuro diagnostics services
• Covers Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, and Pediatrics patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:12
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call required
• Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend, 4 weekends per contract
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred, though less may be considered for hard-to-fill positions
• Experience in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, and Pediatrics required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• Compact or NC license required in hand at time of consideration
• License required if applicable
• 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy duties including ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary function testing
• Administer a range of respiratory medications and oxygen therapy modalities
• Provide care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, and other respiratory conditions
• Provide neonatal and pediatric respiratory care including intubation assistance and CPAP/BiPAP management
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Biweekly orientation schedule
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
• First-time travelers not considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within 75 miles of the facility
• Previous permanent Duke University Health System employees must disclose employment history and must not have been employed within the past 6 months
• RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
