Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring advanced fetal monitoring experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 4 Triage bays, 11 LDR rooms, and 2 ORs
• Unit supports NICU and Post-Partum services with 24-hour OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
• Manages both low and high-risk L&D patients
• Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• 4 weekend shifts per month required (Friday or Saturday)
• On-call only required if working 3 shifts per week (1 on-call per 2 weeks); no on-call if working 4 shifts per week
• Utilizes EPIC, SBAR, Omnicell, and eMD Allscripts systems
• Performs circulating duties for C-sections
• Uses external fetal monitoring equipment

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
• EPIC experience required
• Allscripts charting experience preferred
• Recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams required
• Experience managing high-risk L&D patients required
• Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm required
• Advanced fetal monitoring experience required
• Skilled in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• References required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating for C-sections and managing both low and high-risk L&D patients
• Facility is smoke and nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
• Advanced EKG exam required prior to start, with a minimum 80% passing score
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days and must be submitted upfront for the full 13-week contract
• One holiday RTO request may be submitted but is not guaranteed approval
• Must work most holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
