Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 10-bed Critical Care Unit requiring KY or compact RN licensure and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed inpatient Critical Care Unit (CCU)
• Care for medical and surgical patients ages 16 and up with critical illness including suspected AMI, unstable angina, arrhythmias, and respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation
• Performs invasive hemodynamic monitoring and targeted temperature management
• Night shift schedule, 7P-7A (12-hour shifts), full time
• May require on-call shifts at times
• Requires weekend and holiday coverage

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire
• NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency administering medications and performing procedures such as wound care and IV therapy
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and care coordination across the nursing process
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide patient and family education
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Support unit-based quality improvement initiatives and core measures
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
