Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring post-cath care experience and NIH Stroke Certification.
Details
- 12-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio
- Trauma III designated facility
- 1 tech available for the unit
- Uses GE monitors, Nova glucometers, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Documents in Meditech
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required in rotation with full-time staff and other travelers
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Progressive Care or related specialty
- Experience with post-cath care including TR band management required
- Advanced skills needed in pulmonary treatments and medication titration
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide post-cath care including TR band management for PCU patients
- Perform advanced pulmonary treatments and medication titration as needed
- Complete patient experience requirements including AIDET, communication board documentation, and medication teaching
- Charcoal gray scrubs required as part of the dress code
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates will not be considered
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role
