Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a busy ortho/spine unit requiring 1+ year of recent Med/Surg experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 54-bed Med/Surg unit including an 11-bed dedicated ortho/spine section
• Patient population includes medical-surgical, orthopedic, spine, stable trauma, and psych medical hold patients
• RN patient ratio of 1:5-6, with RN/LPN teams of 10 total staff per hall
• Unit uses Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, continuous pulse ox, specialty beds, wound vacs, chest tubes, NG/feeding tubes, and HD/peritoneal dialysis equipment
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• At least one weekend required within a 4-week period, which may be split up
• Floating within the unit at the facility's discretion
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS optional
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Strong assessment, prioritization, critical thinking, and time management skills required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Care for general Med/Surg patients including post-catheterization, lap appy/chole, thoracentesis/paracentesis, and special IR procedures
• Supportive team culture with experienced, tenured staff who assist one another
• Unit utilizes bladder scanners, a new 12-Lead EKG machine, Teletracking, MobiLab, Patient Keeper, Inspire App, and Wound Capture technology
• Facility holds accreditations including ACS Certification, Hernia Center of Excellence, Spine & Joint Accreditation, and Leapfrog Top 100 Hospital recognition
• Required dress code is grey scrubs
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
