Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift contract requiring strong Neuro and Stroke ICU experience and EPIC charting proficiency.

Details

• Intensive Care Unit setting with a patient ratio of 1:2, sometimes 1:3
• 12-hour night shift schedule
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Must be willing to float to other inpatient units and Northshore worksites in Skokie, Highland Park, and Glenbrook
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross for BLS)
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2+ years of strong ICU experience, specifically in Neuro and Stroke
• 5+ years of experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration
• Full SSN required for consideration
• 2 current professional references from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge in the relevant specialty area within the last year
• At least one travel reference preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients, including Neuro and Stroke cases
• Day 1 orientation includes an on-site EKG test (pass/fail); candidates must pass to continue the assignment
• A study book will be provided prior to the on-site EKG test
• New graduates will not be accepted for this position
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be away for 12 months before being eligible to return as a travel candidate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for 13-week contracts
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
