Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 2 Trauma teaching hospital requiring MN licensure, BLS certification, and prior OR specialty experience.

Details

• Operating Room unit at an acute care, teaching hospital with Level 2 Trauma designation
• 258 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM (5x8 hours)
• Required to work every Sunday
• On-call responsibilities as needed
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Epic/Excellian EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in OR specialty typically required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Surgical specialty skills may include vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, orthopedic, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, and robotic-assisted procedures
• Experience with trauma cases including amputations and gunshot/stab wounds
• Familiarity with surgical equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana Table
• Minimum of 1 supervisor reference required
• Submission requires Date of Birth, SSN, copy of certifications, and Nursys verification

Additional Information

• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local candidate exceptions for this position
• Returning travelers or staff must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO ideally no more than 5 days during the assignment
• Pre-start modules are required and average 8 hours to complete
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or for prior perm employees
• Fingerprinting via LiveScan is a Minnesota state requirement for licensure compliance
• First-time travelers are not specifically excluded but must meet the experience requirements listed
