Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift acute care assignment requiring RRT or CRT certification and neonatal vent/Bubble CPAP experience.

Details

• Acute care setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
• Covers inpatient, outpatient, and ER areas
• Treats mostly adults, but also pediatric and neonatal patients
• 10-30 treatments per day
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts (6:30p-7a)
• Weekend coverage required on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights
• Holiday coverage required
• On-call requirement of about 4 days per month with a 1-hour response time
• Sole RT in-house during night shift with a second therapist available on-call
• No self-scheduling
• No floating outside of RT, except to Zone 1 facilities (PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STM) in extreme need situations
• Uses Epic EMR
• Equipment includes Puritan Bennett 980 vents, Hamilton C1 CPAP/BIPAP, AirVo and Vapotherm high flow, and Fisher and Paykel Bubble CPAP

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• RRT or CRT certification via NBRC
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Neonatal experience with Bubble CPAP and ventilator management required
• Must be able to draw ABGs and perform EKGs
• License required if applicable
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Must reside within 60 miles of the facility

Additional Information

• Work under the support of a Respiratory Manager and Lead Therapist, with an in-house Hospitalist available
• Department-specific orientation provided with preceptor support
• 12 hours of orientation included in the assignment
• Solid colored scrubs permitted in any color
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
