Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with prior travel experience for a night shift position requiring AWHONN Intermediate and NRP certifications.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Level 1 nursery facility that manages patients beyond 35 weeks gestation
• Patient population includes pre-eclampsia, GDM, oligohydramnios, GHTN, and other high-risk obstetric conditions
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30) with weekend and holiday rotation
• Low census on-call requirement
• Floating to Post Partum as needed
• Centricity charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand
• Current AWHONN Intermediate, NRP, and BLS certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and sterile vaginal exams
• Experience with high-risk medication administration including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives
• Newborn care experience including assessments, cord care, and discharge teaching
• Fetal monitoring experience including external and internal EFM use
• Postpartum care experience including hemorrhage management and couplet care
• Must pass EKG/Telemetry exam onsite during orientation
• 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-section recovery, and neonatal resuscitation
• Collaborate with care team to manage obstetrical emergencies such as hemorrhage and shock
• Scrubs are provided
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
• Orientation sessions are held biweekly
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles at a reduced rate
• Candidates with previous permanent employment at this health system must not have been employed within the last 6 months
• RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
