Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 27-bed unit requiring at least 2 years of recent experience and a NH or compact RN license.

Details

• 27-bed medical-surgical unit caring for inpatients with a variety of medical and post-operative conditions
• Patient population is primarily elderly, ranging from age 18 and up
• Common diagnoses include post-op ortho, general surgery, ETOH, CHF, and pneumonia
• RN patient ratio of 5:1 and LNA ratio of 3:1
• 12-hour day shifts, 07:00-19:00, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) with proof of state residency required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of equivalent Med/Surg experience required
• Minimum of 2 previous travel assignments completed
• Experience with post-surgical drains, central line care/maintenance, and foley insertion required
• Experience with G tubes, J tubes, NG tubes, and PEG tubes required
• Experience with IV medication administration and IV push required
• Wound care and O2 therapy experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct inpatient care on a busy medical-surgical unit
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• No local candidates will be considered for this role
