Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position on day shift, requiring Epic EMR experience and at least 2 years of recent specialty experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Float Pool unit within a large academic hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Requires floating to other units as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
• 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required, or 1 year at a 600+ bed academic hospital with a passing competency test score
• Competency testing required within 24 hours of submission for candidates with less than 2 years of experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted
• Minimum of 1 supervisor or manager reference within the last year (charge nurse references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple Med/Surg units as part of the float pool team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccination required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted (no personal or religious exemptions)
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with required make-up shifts completed within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at the time of submission
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
