Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med Surg RN for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma center, requiring prior trauma experience and an active MN RN license.

Details

• Work in the Trauma Specialty Care unit of a Level I Trauma center, also serving as a Level II pediatric trauma center and Level III NICU
• Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric cases
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36-hour weekly guarantee
• Required to work every 3rd weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (temporary license accepted if permanent license has been applied for)
• Compact license not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Medical and surgical trauma experience required
• Level I Trauma center experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations required
• Skills checklist current within 1 year, specific to specialty, required for consideration
• 2 supervisory references with employment dates required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide holistic nursing care across the lifecycle, from neonates to older adults, based on unit assignment
• Perform assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation per nursing standards
• Develop and revise patient care plans, coordinate care across disciplines, and delegate tasks as appropriate
• Participate in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices
• Royal blue scrubs required as part of dress code
• Must work some holidays
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application and may not be honored if submitted later
• Candidates with prior work history at this health system or affiliated facilities must disclose this on their resume
• Background check including fingerprinting required for all patient-facing roles
